Music itself: just great! Vierne's best piano writing is contained within in the Préludes.

This edition: very clear and easy to read, and accurate, all of which is especially welcome in such chromatic music but frankly cannot be said of the original edition! The prefatory material about Vierne, his piano music and these pieces is extensive and absolutely fascinating.
A bit pricey... but ultimately worth it.
