Most voice teachers and singers still prefer the pianistic, wonderfully gratifying editions made by Alessandro Parisotti (1853-1913) of early Italian arias. This newly researched edition, with updated composer attributions, features new, clean music engravings. The collection includes the original contents of 24 Italian Songs and Arias of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries plus four additional Parisotti editions. Also includes international phonetic alphabet for each song text, word for word translations for study, historical introduction for each aria, and a preface on Parisotti and his approach to this music. This compilation includes the High, Medium High, Medium, Medium Low, and Low editions in one book, perfect for teacher reference.

Bedford GB Excellent resource for teachers.
Fabulous resource for singing teachers. Good range of Italian arias, many in the ABRSM/Trinity etc Grade syllabuses, in stay-open ring bound format, each aria in clear, full sized print, transposed for ALL voice ranges: high, medium high, medium, medium low and low; plus an introduction, pronunciation guide and translation for each too.
VERY big book. Not bad in itself, just be aware, it's not one you want to have to carry round with you.

It is an invaluable resource for my teaching--28 songs in 5 keys. Included is the IPA, translations and historical background. The sturdy ring binding is crucial--it is 2-3 inches thick. A lovely book!
Too heavy to transport--I keep it in my teaching room.
