Classic Rock Posters charts the history of the music poster from the 1950s to the present day. With more than 500 posters and images originating in the US, UK, and beyond—some unseen for many years—and featuring the work of earlier unknown artists together with the most influential designers working in the industry to date, the book explores the interplay between music and art, and musicians and designers, in a remarkable visual journey.
Chronological organization shows how poster art developed over sixty years, alongside the evolving music scene—from early rock ’n’ roll to beat, blues and folk, and from the hip-hop and dance explosion of the 1980s, right up to the present day.
