A beautiful arrangement of this carol - so much more interesting than the usual Greensleeves. And quite manageable even for a small choir.

        Musicroom Reviews

This setting, by former Gonville and Caius College organ scholar, Thomas Hewitt Jones, of words by Victorian author William Dix, is a poignant contrast to over-cheerful Christmas fare. Within the capabilities of most church choirs, it has a haunting melody in D minor, and provides enough challenges and opportunities to guarantee satisfaction for choirmaster and choir. Heartily recommended.
