The teacher book contains 8 ensemble projects with detailed analysis activities leading to composition activities, similar in manner to approaches to the Areas of Study. Each project is structured by lesson, with clear LOs and explicit links to AoS. There are also a good variety of starter and plenary ideas. This is much more than a set of songs for students to learn how to play. It actively encourages students to engage with the music beyond the notes on the page and approach set work analysis in a similar vein. I particularly liked the writing frames included at the back for indicative content sheets, composers notebook and dictation resources. The only quibble I have is that the guitar parts in the ensemble pieces book could also include tab to increase accessibility to notation for students. Otherwise very happy!
