Thia is an average selection of pieces, with nothing very inspiring. However, there is enough variety to find pieces that will show different techniques and abilities.

Some lovely pieces mixed with some very challenging ones but I have managed to find one from each section for my exam in June. Blue Sky Blues is my favourite :)

I have come back to the piano 28 years after taking grade 1 and promptly giving up. I decided it would be a good challenge to study for grade 3. The quality of the book is good with easy to read print. I like the descriptions at the end of each piece. Some of the pieces are not really inspiring to me but I think I have found 3 pieces I like. The poco allegro is particularly beautiful. The arrangement of the policemans song is a little thin in places but it is from one of my favourite operettas so it has to be done.

Bought as gift for grand-daughter. I understand she is very pleased.

I think the Grade 3 selection is really poor this year, it's like the ABRSM have not thought it out. There are only 2 decent pieces out of 9 and they are both in the C list. (At Sunset and Blue Sky Blues.) The others are either boring or too difficult or both. There are TWO German dances and they are both boring. The Policeman's song is hard and not a good arrangement. Piano teachers, I suggest you tell your pupils to skip Grade 3 this year or do it with another exam board, that's my opinion anyway.

I use abrsm for graded music and they have never failed to impress 9 pieces of music in three lists and plenty of variety

My daughter was delighted to receive her latest exam book, and it arrived a couple of days after ordering. Excellent product, excellent service!

This (mostly uninspired) collection is fine for adults with stretchy hands and long legs, but I was dismayed to find that the 2 most interesting pieces, the Chopin & "Sonn-enuntergang" are both physically beyond my small 9-year-old pupil, whose left hand can't stretch / hold Chopin'sdotted minims, and whose feet don't reach the floor for the continuous pedalling required in the "Sonne" piece. ABRSM should be more child-friendly.
