I have a student with a learning disability who is a little older than most young beginner students. This book has allowed her to learn at a basic level, but unlike many other beginner books, the pieces are great. The accompaniments, in particular, are really beautiful and imaginative. We have had a lot of fun with this book, and I'll definitely be moving other students over to the Hal Leonard series.

I have found the Hal Leonard series to be extremely helpful and concise. The great thing about it is that it gets the pupil playing the Piano from day one, and within a couple of lessons they're playing some simple but great sounding music. All of the pieces have teacher accompaniments which helps the pupil to feel like they're playing some pretty impressive stuff. Above all, my pupils love it and are really enjoying learning to play piano!

This has proved an ideal accompaniment to my daughters introduction to the piano. She utilises it at her school lesson and is easily able to follow it at home for practice without assistance from us. Would recommend this to any beginner!

The most brilliant beginner piano series I have ever used. Intuitive and insightful. Hal Leonard has an extraordinary ability to Get into the mind of a young beginner, making learning seamless.

As a teacher myself, I'm loving the fact that students aren't asked to be bogged down by reading music. Instead, they are asked to improvise and discover sounds, using only a few notes at a time. This works on their aural skills, which I find to be essential. Don't worry, though, as the tutor book gives equal importance to reading notation.
