The book's really helpful as, along with the notation, it also explains a little about the tunes. Sometimes it quotes lines from the song and so you can get a real feel for the tunes. Overall it's a great book but i'd recommend the Tomas O'Cannain book along with it as this book has slightly different versions of the tunes found in the slow airs book.

This is a truly wonderful collection of slow Irish airs with interesting notations about each air. The airs are particularly suited to my Low D whistle.

5 stars definitely. I am a classical flute player but the older i am the more interested I am in celtic music. Not only this book gathers the best slow celtic airs, but also it is excellent to play with both instruments, flute and tin whistle.

Quickly becoming one of my favourite tune books. I have tried out the tunes on a variety of instruments - flute, low whistle, concertina and mandolin and they bring out the best in the various tone qualities. Just as it says on the tin - suitable for all melody intruments!
