Keri Degg: Ballade

Books and CDs | Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Soprano Saxophone

Publisher: Masquerade Music
Composer: Keri Degg
Format: Audio / Video | Backing Tracks

Ballade was written in May 2011 as a small surprise for inspirational saxophonist/teacher Alistair Parnell. Ballade is around 4'30 minutes long and is unashamedly sentimental, allowing the Saxophones more 'commercial' qualities to be appreciated.

Complete with lip slurs and subtle jazz inflections, Ballade, which is around grade 7 standard, is perfect for jazz and classical musicians alike.

In addition to the pull out Saxophone part - universal for both Eb and Bb Saxes - you will also receive a separate Piano part for the Bb Sax option, plus a CD containing tuning note (concert A) and full demonstration track (Alto Saxophone & Piano) plus backing tracks for both EB and Bb Saxophones.

        Musicroom Reviews

This book was a great find. My teacher and I had reached the stage after playing for several years, working our way through James Rae, Graham Lyons etc and various classical pieces including rewarding pieces by my teacher Marcus Blunt like his Alto sax and piano sonata and three contrasts, (which I would also recommend)where we needed to consolidate Grade 5-6 playing. Ballade fits the bill perfectly, wonderful music and a great disc to accompany your playing. For myself, I find the piano part helps to follow the music
