This is the best Beethoven piano sonata by far and away. There is no second or third movement, but unless you are amazing at the piano you will not be able to play these. This is quite cheap especially seeing as it comes with a CD but the ordinary sheet music is widely available around everywhere I've seen. Don't get me wrong the piece is heavy going, a few bars scream past and bam! Diminuendos, Pentatonic scales like you've never seen, However, after learning these playing them is easy, it's just there is so much to remember, notes, fingering, loudness of the first out of the three. Only on my third attempt of lessons with my pedantic piano teacher did I finally learn this. After the first two she had stressed and strained so much that I seriously contemplated firing her. So not for beginners then. If you are a beginner go and try Fur Elise, that is not easy, but a damn sight easier than this. Is you wanna do this then be warned, you'll probably fail on at least your first attempt unless you are incredibly good and have been playing the piano a number of years. But, when you recieve a standing ovation from an astounded audience you'll realize every moment of this tedious incredulous slug was worth it.

The music score was as I expected, but I did not require the cd. Although cheap to produce it was unnecessary and perhaps could have reduced the cost if not included. Anonymous

Belle présentation, mais doigté "fantaisiste". Dommage. Anonymous

I currently own all of Beethoven's Symphonies, sonatas, concertos, etc. I am a big admirer of his music. As a matter of fact, out of all 500 of my classical cds with Mozart, Bach, Haydn, Handle, and so forth. Ludwig Van Beethoven is my favorite composer. I am really deep into his pieces. The Moonlight sonata expresses his love for a lady - the "Countess Giuletta Giucciardi". When you hear this piece, you can feel the love that he had for the countess. It's more unique like his, "Fur Elise" or his "Tempest". The Moonlight will have to get five stars as well as any other of Beethoven's pieces.

I found this music very well laid out with good fingering shown and the music - well spaced out - made it easy to read. The accompanying CD was also very helpful in practising. A previous version which I have, of the theme arranged for piano solo, was in C minor so I was surprised to find the new version different. Anonymous
