- This book has some nicely different pieces aimed at beginners. The book is very good value for money.
Many of the pieces are quite long considering that they are for beginners, and even though there is no use of higher positions necessary, the pieces need frequent use of mixed backwards and forwards first positions, and playing in half position. They also require a good understanding of bowing technique.
- This book is aimed at students after one to two years of tuition. As a cello teacher for a Music Service I found that most of the pieces are far to difficult for my average (younger) students after one or two years of tuition. Since the book comes from Germany it made me wonder how fast pupils might learn in Germany!
