Along with many other great American composers drawn from all musical genres, Philip Glass was commissioned by the 1984 Olympic Committee to write a work for performance at the spectacular opening ceremony of the Games in Los Angeles that summer.
Originally scored for orchestra and voices, The Olympian - Lighting of the Torch was among the more memorable and original contributions.
It is now available for the first time in the composer’s own arrangement for Piano or Keyboard.
