I particularly like Grade 4 Piano Trinity Guildhall exam music because the pieces which have been chosen are pupil friendly - lovely singable music, well set out and presented on the page. I have chosen three pieces to comment on. The Kuhlau Allegretto encourages a Grade 4 pupil to practise scales! The Schumann Sicilienne is ideal to work on producing a cantabile style above a muted thirds accompaniment. The Kabalevsky A Sad Story is excellent for teaching fingering and movement in left hand chords.
