First Frets: Finger Position Indicator (1/8 Violin)

| Violin

Publisher: Don't Fret
Inexpensive, mathematically designed for accuracy, and made of clear, self-adhering vinyl, it applies easily to the fingerboard.

Coloured lines arranged in a scale pattern show the students exactly where to place the fingers. It gives you a resource for teaching finger positions, scales, keys and intervals. Whatever your method, Don't Fret! helps you communicate more effectively.

For the first notes on the instrument. An expanded version of this is available which covers higher notes and position changes.

The sticker did not mark the correct positions on the 1/8 violin (for which it was intended), the colour bars were completely out of place. Also, it is not possible to stick the sticker on the neck of the violin without removing all strings (it is impossible just to slide it under (even if the strings are loose) as it is so sticky (which is the one good point about the sticker). Shame, because the idea of marking the spots is excellent.

Bought for my 4-yr-old. The sticker sticks on easily and has helped my son identify the first 3 notes on each string with ease. The sticker may bubble, so make sure you have it in the proper place the 1st time. Highly recommended for young beginners of the violin.
