Don't Fret: Finger Position Indicator (16" Viola)

| Viola

Publisher: Don't Fret
Inexpensive, mathematically designed for accuracy, and made of clear, self-adhering vinyl, it applies easily to the fingerboard.

Coloured lines arranged in a scale pattern show the students exactly where to place the fingers. It gives you a resource for teaching finger positions, scales, keys and intervals. Whatever your method, Don't Fret! helps you communicate more effectively.

Am teaching myself to play stringed instruments. No teacher - why inflict the awful noise on others? The fingering fret guide seems such an obvious device, I wonder why fiddle makers don't fit it as standard. Maybe not needed once fully proficient, but that may be a long way away ! Indicates approx position, fine positionuing is done by ear .
I would suggest to the makers that the coloured bands could be a tad broader because seen obliquely they are hard to see. But it's a good product.

I expect this to be a helpful addition for some violests, but I`m afraid not for me, as I find it rather awkward to judge where the marks are when looking down the fingerboard. The product was not up to expectations, but the service from Musicroom was first class
