Reeling in the horror of September 11, Dennis, like all Americans, sought a way to respond to the unthinkable. Words obviously fail; so did anger. Acting on the belief that the creative spirit transcends both, he slowly began to record on manuscript paper the conflicting emotions he wasexperiencing. Two weeks later, this collection was under way.
Dennis Leogrande was a music educator and supervisor of music in New Jersey (USA) public schools where he has taught band and string instruments to students ages four through eighteen as well as directed bands, jazz ensembles, and orchestras. He holds a Masters degree in music education from New York University and a Supervisor of Music degree. In addition to his teaching, Mr. Leogrande has published numerous educationall works, composed music for animated films, and operates a digital recording studio.
