Augusta Read Thomas: Spring Song: Cello Solo

Spring Song is a five-minute piece that celebrates the lyrical, long-line, expressive and elegant characteristics of the cello. Double-stop passages evoke a carillon of bells, all ringing in a flurry, atop a large cathedral. Attimes the piece is very intimate, and at other times, bold and energized.
