Switch on to Jazz is a collection of instrumental solos with pianoaccompaniment written as fun pieces for students to play betweentheir (Associated Board) examinations. The pieces, which haveplenty of rhythmic challenges, are fun to play and easy to listen toand are ideal as concert items. They are written in a variety ofpopular styles including rock, swing, Klezmer, ballad, pop, calypso,etc. The live piano accompaniment on the CD helps you topractise but of course you will learn most from the musicalinteraction that occurs when you play together with a real pianist.Each piece stands on its own but performers may choose topresent a group of two or three together to make a suite ofpieces.
