Banks Music is without doubt the UK's premier music shop. Founded in 1756 it shares a birthday with Mozart and is now in its third century of music retailing. Located just 200 yards away from York Minster on the side of the river Ouse Banks Music has over 10,000 sq. feet of retail space. Set out over multiple floors in the very centre of York Banks Music is synonomus with music retail throughout England.

We have a staff of 25 music professionals with over 150 years of combined experience that will take you every step of the way from novice to virtuoso; with our vast range of musical instruments, sheet music and passion for the arts.

Range

We stock a fantastic range of sheet music for every player, from vocal groups to Symphony Orchestras, rock guitarists to classical pianists via brass bands and string quartets. If it is in print then we will be able to supply it for you wherever you are. Our fantastic store refurbishment has allowed us to house one of the UK's premier digital piano showrooms including top of the range instruments from both Yamaha and Roland including the legendary V-Piano.

The all new rock department leaves all competition in the area standing, with a huge range of high end and beginner Electric and Acoustic guitars, professional standard Nord synth's, cutting edge digital drum kits and every accessory that a musician could need.
