Eric Clapton Unplugged remains a high water mark in MTV's Unplugged series. It was a remarkably diverse outing exploring the full range of Clapton's artistry in acoustic form. Included in the program were authentic rural blues, dramatic rock ballads, Dixieland, bossa nova, earthy folk songs, and more - all delivered with Clapton's uncategorizable but immediately recognisable guitar style.
This special signature licks presentation is offered as a guitarist's companion book/audio to the Eric Clapton Unplugged album. The music/TAB displays note-for-note transcribed guitar parts, and is accompanied by text and performance notes explaining points of interest and various technical aspects of the music.
The CD audio features authentic play-along band tracks in stereo split (the featured guitar part is isolated on the right side, accompaniment is on the left side) - so that you may try your hand at the music in context - as well as detailed demonstrations of the techniques and licks discussed in the book. The latter are broken down into bite-sized phrases and played slowly.

Customer Rating Fantastic! I originally bought the complete guitar tab songbook of "EC unplugged" but couldn't really follow it - my ears couldn't seem to isolate the individual guitar parts that were transcribed. Obviously, the tab in this book is the same but the accompanying CD has the transcribed guitar parts isolated so you can hear them clearly. Also, the CD has these parts not only broken down into small chunks, but they are also played slowly which makes it even easier to follow.

Within a week of getting this book I could play passable versions of over half the songs.

Customer Rating Wolf has done it again!! This is better than having a lesson - everything is explained, broken down, and parts are played in different tempos, you cannot NOT learn from this book! If you want to learn how to perform the songs from this amazing night, buy this book. It is the exact professional fingerings Eric used. Watch out though - Wolf breaks down the techniques and shows you things like "intros" or "verse" or "ending".. but does not tab out the entirity of the songs. He shows you bite -size segments - and he expects you to put it together and get the idea if there are many choruses etc. But dont worry, all the famous solos of that night are all there! Buy it now!

Customer Rating Great little book with the CD included which really helps. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Clapton but the only downside is the it doesn't tab the entire lenght of each song - but don't worry all the legendary solo's are in there along with the main riffs for each song. Worth every penny!
