The Young Pianist's Repertoire Book One, provides a wide choice of pieces for those pianists completing the hugely popular and successful Piano Lessons Book 1 written by the same authors. It functions as an independent anthology for those who have recently started learning the piano. A excellent opportunity to develop your confidence and performance skills at the earliest possible stage, whilst also providing the beginnings of your very first musical repertoire.

Edinburgh GB Piano & harpsichord teacher.
Attractive keyboard solos from 17th to 20th centuries, ranging from Grades 1 (Peter Eben + R.R. Bennet) to nearly 4 (Handel Bouree) in difficulty. All lie within the stretch of a small hand and most require no pedal. I find this album is still popular with adults + all ages of children & am pleased to see it's much in evidence at our EPTA concerts & Music Festival. Nice introduction to the easier music of top composers Purcell, JS Bach, Mozart, Handel, Schumann, Shostakovitch, etc, with some "teaching" studies by Loeschorn & Czerny which are fun to learn & rewarding to play.

Scotland GB Piano teacher of all
Still popular after over 4 decades, the 35 solos span 4 centuries, from Purcell to Peter Eben, and progresses from c. Grade 1 (Czerny, Rameau, Richard Rodney Bennet) to nearly Grade 4 (Handel Bouree). Really attractive & useful repertoire for festivals / concerts, and covers every technical trick at all levels.
My school-age pupils and adult
students like it as a collection (although
I and they aren't too keen on 3 or 4 individual pieces) and they like the range of mood, especially the fun Eben, Seiber, Maurice & Shostakovitch.
