The thirteen pieces that constitute Robert Schumann's Kinderszenen for piano (Scenes from Childhood) Op.15 (1838) showcase their creator's musical imagination at the peak of its poetic clarity. unlike a number of Schumann's collections of piano character pieces (e.g. Album for the Young Op.68), the Kinderszenen are not intended to be played by children. Schumann claimed that the picturesque titles attached to the pieces were added as an afterthought in order to provide subtle suggestions to the player, a model Debussy followed decades later in his Preludes.

I saw Martin Roscoe perform these delightful pieces at the Southend Palace Theatre last year and decided to buy them to perform them on my piano at home. The famous piece is No 7 Reverie but they are all worth playing.

Wells, Somerset GB Retired music teacher.
Beautiful, popular pieces, most of which are quite easy to play. Even the hardest of the 13, Blindman's Buff (number 3) is still effective if played at a slightly more moderate pace than suggested here.
If the edition had provided a blank page following movement 9, then movements 10, 11 and 12 could each have been printed without requiring turn-overs. This would not have increased the total number of pages of the book. This point is worth your considering for future reprints.
