Description

This superb volume brings together in one authoritative playing edition one of the most important segments of Faure's works for piano: all of his nine preludes, five Impromptus and four Valse-Caprices. Each of these distinctive compositions reveal Faure's lyrical melodic gifts and innovative harmonies. Pianists of intermediate and advanced skills will find in this volume a unique opportunity to explore one of the most gifted and influential composers of the French School.

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating This volume is absolutely superb. Although as with a lot of Dover's Music, it is not always as clear as it otherwise could be (compared to the print quality of say Henle or Barenheiter), but this hardly a problem to worry about.

To be included in every serious pianist's collection! The pieces are brilliant for those that are of a high standard, and want to start exploring the wider performance repertoire (I'm doing the Valse-Caprice No.1 in a competition in London at the end of April). Add to your basket now!
