This wonderfully diverse collection explores the world of traditional fiddle music from Irish to Gipsy and from Bluegrass to Latin-American, with many other exciting and intriguing styles along the way. The CD reflects this diversity with supporting bands featuring an extraordinary variety of instrumental colours including authentic sounds drawn from the Celtic countries, central and eastern Europe, and from the Americas. The arrangements can be performed as solos or duets (or played by larger ensembles), accompanied by piano, violin or guitar, with or without the CD accompaniment. Above all, this is music to play and enjoy with other people. The edition is part of the Trinity syllabus 2007 (grade 1,2,3).

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating Beautiful music for the violin in styles from many regions of the world with first class backing tracks made by real musicians (not keyboards). Made me want to get all the individual books in the series even though they don't have the backing tracks with them.

Customer Rating Great little book of tunes from all over the world. My girls love to dip in to the book on days when they are fed up of practising scales and grade pieces i.e. most days!

Customer Rating This is a brilliant book. Every violin student should have one! I use it after Grade 5 (yes, I know most of the pieces are much easier), for a term of really enjoying different styles of music making. There are expressive pieces, fast ones, well known ones and failry obscure ones. Very useful for performances and ensembles. They nearly always ask for Book 2!
