This anthology contains original compositions by nineteenth-century composers for players of grade 1 to 2 standard. Several of the pieces are available for the first time as part of a graded collection. The repertoire includes works by major composers, such as Chopin and Schumann, as well as lesser-known pieces by, amongst others, Bortkiewicz and Rimsky-Korsakov. The collection is ideal for piano teachers looking for additional repertoire for their teaching practice. Includes performance CD.

Bridport GB Piano teacher
This book is one I encourage most of my pupils to have once they are approaching Grade 3 level. There are some beautiful pieces which can be played with much feeling and so we can work on shaping the phrases and adding dynamics. A valuable book for any pianist who enjoys romantic piano.
I think some of the pieces on the accompanying CD are played at too fast a tempo.
