The best of Kraftwerk arranged for Piano, Voice and Guitar. After emerging from Dusseldorf in the mid '70s, Kraftwerk began to transform modern electronic music. Their powerful fusion of man, machine and melodic intuition created some of the most memorable techno-pop sounds ever made.

Their catalogue of work has influenced every genre of music since, including new wave, electro, house, hip-hop, as well as current Indie artists such as MGMT.

Rating Review
Customer Rating Sheet music for Kraftwerk comes around even less frequently than their albums so this songbook is a welcome release. Not strictly a best of - it just covers Autobahn/Radioactivity/Trans Europe Express - it is accurately scored with multilingual lyrics. Hopefully the first of a series covering all their albums...

Customer Rating If I could of I would have given this 3.5 stars as it IS a nice book. However, a 'Best Of' it isn't by any means. Any Kraftwerk song choice must surely include 'Tour De France, Man Machine, Computer World, Computer Love, It's More Fun to Compute' and 'The Model'? I bought it eyes-open having seen the track list and in the knowledge that there is, at present, no alternative. The book itself is mainly in German but has the English included as well so no need to panic. It is nicely produced and at 83 pages fairly substantial. It is not the book's size that I am quibbling with so much as the choices (of song) made in it. Was it worth transcribing 'Ohm Sweet Ohm' over one of the above songs? Someone obviously thought so unless this is merely a 1st installment, in which case the 'Best Of' name is even more inappropriate. The back of the book shows the complete Kraftwerk back catalogue suggesting that is what it contains while the cover is pure Autobahn contradicting this and the spine of the book mentions only Autobahn, Radioactivity and Trans-Europe Express, hence my though that this could be the 1st of several 'Best Of's. Who knows? A genuine collection of the most popular songs woudl have been a better idea though, that's for sure. On the plus side the transcription does seem to be okay and it is all well presented, and, as said before, what alternative other than transcribing it yourself do you have?

Customer Rating I knew which tracks would be in this book when I purchased and they are honest transcriptions. However, I cannot help feeling that a second volume of their work - to include tracks from Computerwelt, Mensche Machine and Tour de France - should follow. This is only the best of Autobahn, Radioactivitat and TEE.
