Description

Dance Preludes, for Clarinet and Piano, is an impressive chamber work by Witold Lutoslawski. The five movements which form this work are based on folk songs from North Poland, providing a variety of contrasts.

This is the original version of the work, composed in 1954, for Clarinet and Piano. This piece was later revised for chamber ensemble and again for orchestra.

The solo clarinet part is also included on a separate insert.

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating Very good piece of music, definitely not for beginners. It is a beautiful piece to play once you have mastered the different time signatures and accidentals etc. About Grade 6 or 7 standard. I would definitely recommend it.

Customer Rating Fun to play, some really good technical difficulties but it really does make it fun to play when you eventually get your fingers around them. Its nice to listen to but in an odd way, you really feel a contemporary feel to the peices.

Customer Rating A lovely suite of music, with only one movement that is a little tricky by virtue of high notes. The pieces can be played by amateurs, probably level seven plus. A classic for clarinet players.
