Description

This book is part of a string series arranged for violin, viola and cello. The arrangements are completely compatible with each other and can be played together or as solos. Each book features a specially designed piano accompaniment that can be easily played by a teacher or intermediate piano student and a carefully crafted removeable part complete with bowings, articulations, and keys well suited for the level 2-3 player. A fully orchestrated accompaniment CD is included. Each song on the CD includes a DEMO track, which features a live string performance, followed by the PLAY-ALONG track by itself.

This book is also part of a Lord Of The Rings instrumental series written for flute, clarinet, alto sax, tenor sax, trumpet, horn in F and trombone.

The cello part is meant to be easy, and for that reason stays in the lower register. This makes it difficult to get heard against the backing track. The music is not really easy to play for beginners though because of the keys it is in and difficult rhythms (and with this difficult bowings). An intermediate player who can play this would want the part to lie higher so that it stands out better.
I find the book pretty useless!

Customer Rating This is a great book from beginners up. It feels great to be able to play along to music that is quite moving in the film. There are some more acvanced so as your ability increases you can play different tunes. I really recomend this book.
