Dido And Aeneas is a sparkling miniature opera, filled with intense drama and elegant song. It was commissioned by and first performed at Josias Priest's School for Young Ladies in Chelsea. The libretto was written by Nahum Tate, who based his book on the story of Queen Dido and the sailor, Aeneas, from Virgil's Aeneid. The text is presented in both German and English.

Rating Review
Customer Rating I am the librarian of a local choir and I bought this to replace a copy which had gone missing. It arrive well before the expected delivery date - great! This is a good work for amateur choral societies, but I think that the performance depends a lot on the soloists.
