Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating I bought it because I loved the samples (those tunes are awesome and fun to play), but haven't recieved much more, songs are short, less than 2minutes, backing tracks are superbly recorded and sound great, but solos aren't even transcribed in the sheet! Exercises from the end are only on cd and are like samples, very short and unhelpful.

Customer Rating I found this a most helpful way of learning jazz sax. There's a variety of types of tunes on offer, and are a hoot to play.
Possibly adding additional concert pitch chords for a guitarist might help. The solos suggest some notes, but maybe the pieces could hint at which scales would be most useful to put with each piece. They are not written out because the whole point is to come up with own! Apparently that's what jazz is...
Carefully listening to the solos gives ideas on inflexion and tonality. Highly useful if expensive resource even if you don't want to take the exam.
Finding the original tunes is fun because they may not sound much like the tunes as transcribed. Doesn't stop them being fun.

Customer Rating My son has just started with a private saxophone tutor and these are the books that she has recommended which he seems to be enjoying and more keen to practise. As for the Music Room service it was first class as always.

Customer Rating Great tunes with tips how to play, good variety and CD has tracks with and without Sax.
