The majority of pieces contain interesting chords therefore are more interesting to play.
some pieces I have never come across and neither the arrangements nor the tune attract me.

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating The real benchmark of a good song is that whether it can stand the test of time and that can certainly be said for a lot of the songs in this bumper collection of musical hits that date from the turn of the 20th century right up until the beginning of the 20's. This is an important period of musical history at a time when ragtime music was already in its death throes but before the craze known as jazz really took in Chicago and New Orleans. With song selections such as "Aba Daba Honeymoon", "Alexander's Ragtime Band", "Give my Regards to Broadway" and even the old Irish favourite "It's a Long way to Tipperary", the everyday pianist will find a wealth of musical delights which have survived into the 21st century and which still have people singing along as though they had never gone out of fashion!

Customer Rating Good collection of familiar melodies

Customer Rating Very good value - you get a lot of songs for your money, covering a comprehensive range of musical genres. It will be very useful in finding those songs which are otherwise out of print.

Customer Rating Very pleased with this album. An excellent selection of pieces with full piano accompaniment, set at a reasonable standard. Criticisms. A lot of the pieces I'd never heard of, although most I had, and the usual problem with large albums, of the book staying open on the music stand. I appreciate though that a ring binding would add to the cost.
