Customer Rating My daughter's violin teacher asked me to buy this for her, so it is not my own selection. I can see why she has chosen it. The pieces are right for someone who has passed Grade 2 and still needs more practice before going on to Grade 3 pieces. All the pieces are well known songs and could be played with or without the piano accompaniment. Songs include Annie's Song (John Denver), Nellie The Elephant (Peter Hart) and Havah Nagalah (trad.). Each tune has a suggested teaching/learning point. For example, for Sailing (by Gavin Sutherland) the suggestion is "Don't forget to slow down the bow for the minims."

Customer Rating This book is great if you like the 70s - Annies song; Mull of Kintyre; Imagine... There are some nice pieces and very accessible for young children, but I think I'm going to buy more 'classical' books for dd from now on.

Customer Rating I actually bought this after my grade 2 exam for some light relief prior to grade 3 studies and to expand my repertoire. I can see this woulkd have helped a great deal in preparing for my grade 2 exam. Recommended.
