Also known as Feu d'artifice, Fireworks is an early piece from Stravinsky, written in 1908. A short work, it was presented to the daughter of Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov on her wedding day. Later, The Firebird was commissioned in part on the strength of the orchestration of this work.

Featured as the opening piece in the 2009 BBC Proms.
