Most voice teachers and singers still prefer the pianistic, wonderfully gratifying arrangements of this early Italian material made by Alessandro Parisotti in the 1880s.

This new edition, newly researched and engraved, includes the original Schirmer '24' plus four additional songs, Sento nel core (Scarlatti), O leggiadri occhi belli (Anon), Intorno all'idol mio (Cesti), Delizie contente, che l'alma beate (Cavalli). With IPA, word for word translations, and historical information on each song and composer. The included audio downloads feature diction lessons, full performance versions and accompaniment versions for each song.

This collection is available in separate editions for five different vocal ranges, each with and without audio downloads of performance, accompaniment and diction lesson tracks:

High Voice: (Book/online audio: HL50490105, Book only: HL50490104),
Medium High Voice: (Book/online audio: HL50485630, Book only: HL50485628),
Medium Voice: (Book/online audio: HL50490107, Book only: HL50490106),
Medium Low Voice: (Book/online audio: HL50485631, Book only: HL50485629)
Low Voice: (Book/online audio: HL50490109, Book only: HL50485629).

A chart showing the keys for the different voices is included as a sample page.

Medway GB An eclectic musician
The transliterations are very helpful and the piano accompaniments are exceptional. Although I could play the accompaniments myself, it's more rewarding to be able to concentrate on the vocal performance.

I was confused at first about whether the book came with 2 CDs or just the online audio version as the cover pictures on sites didn't correspond with the written details. An email to Hal Leonard clarified this. The CDs are no longer available. The Online audio allows far more options for downloarding etc.
