A Suite of songs for unaccompanied choir, poems by Thomas Campion.

Four Sacred Songs was commissioned by the Essex Baroque Choir, conductor Simon Thompson, and was given its first London performance at St James, Piccadilly, in September 1990. It is a setting of poems from Thomas Campion's First Book Of Ayres: Intended chiefly for concert performance, it gives choirs the chance to present these beautiful seventeenth-century poems in a new light.
