"Some of Gershwin's finest inspirations have not as yet been either published or publicly performed. It is probable that the production of his twenty-four preludes ... will award him a still higher rank in the army of contemporary composers." In 1925, an admirer thus heralded George Gershwin's ambitious project in Vanity Fair, namely to compose preludes in all keys as Bach and Chopin had done before. On 4 December of the following year, the composer publicly performed five of these pieces. However, the extremely busy darling of Broadway only published the famous three Preludes for Piano (1927) during his lifetime. Henle now presents them for the first time in a state-of-the-art Urtext edition.

Nothing bad to say about Henle editions, they're the gold standard IMHO.
It's a pity I had to look overseas to actually find an urtext version of these pieces but I'm glad I had the option.

Customer Rating I was looking for the original Gershwin score and the information on the Musicroom website suggested this one would fulfill this requirement. Which it did, and at a reasonable cost

Customer Rating This is an excellent edition of the three Gershwin preludes, clear, well-spaced printing, pleasant on the eye. It includes very helpful fingering indication of tricky passages, interesting information on the history and detailed performance hints, discussing differences between the first printed edition and Gershwin's own performance. Highly recommended.
