Description

Classics To Moderns 2 is a marvelous panorama of original piano music from Baroque to the present, exactly as written by the master composers from three centuries! The music in this second collection provides the pianist with another broad repertoire which is enjoyable for player and listener alike, making this ideal for concerts and recitals. Carefully compiled and edited by Denes Agay, the arrangements and careful selection of repertoire make this volume suitable for pianists from grade 2 - 3 standard. These pieces, for Piano solo, are sorted progressively increasing in difficulty through the books and series.

The pieces were melodic and this is important for beginners. Practising is stressful but the melody makes the effort enjoyable.
I would have liked one or two more pieces included in the book!

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating This is a very good series with the pieces well graded and a wide range of repertoire. Highly recommended.

Customer Rating A reasonable collection of pieces - grade 2/3 standard. Useful as a back to work in progress towards examinations. Don't expect every piece to be a winner.

Customer Rating I have purchased several of the Classics to Moderns books as my piano teacher recommended them. They have helped me enormously with my sight reading and the variety of music is excellent. In my opinion this book is an excellent purchase.

Customer Rating I love this series, as do my child and adult pupils. All the pieces are originals so it gives pupils the opportunity even at grade one to play unsimplified pieces by great composers.

Customer Rating A good step on from Book One with helpful fingering but my criticism would be that there is not enough variety in the mood of the pieces. Lots of bright chirpy little pieces - a few more reflective ones would be nice
