Based on the ABRSM graded Piano practical examination syllabus and requirements.

Learn your scales and pass the exams! Students can now learn scales and arpeggios in the most enjoyable and effective way. J. Koh's Fingering Method develops the learners' cognitive skills by using a combination of visual, auditory and tactile systems. It has been specially produced to assist preparation for the ABRSM graded Piano practical examinations.

No more problems with fingering! Simply follow the notated finger patterns and accidentals and be on your way to play perfect scales and arpeggios. Aural training takes place as students listen attentively to the formation of the major and minor pitch patterns. Practise with the recommended metronome speeds to achieve perfection and fluency.Success assured! The series for Grades 1 to 5 focuses on establishing good fingering habits and effective co-ordination between both hands. A relaxed hand and beautifully curved fingers will produce the best sounds and tone qualities.

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating The scales and arpeggios must be the hardest and most tedious section of the piano exams. These books by Josephine Koh approach scales from both the notation and fingering methods. My pupils can learn 2 or 3 scales with this method in 10 minutes. They enjoy it and feel a sense of achievement. The "dreaded" scales are gone!
