Starting in 1973, Wild Bill Davison made Copenhagen, Denmark his home base for European tours, appearing regularly with Papa Bue's Viking Jazzband between 1974 and 1977. Arne Bue Jensen and Jørgen Svare had formed their group in 1956 and recorded prolifically for Storyville from that time through to 1978, remarkably maintaining essentially the same personnel through those years. Bue took special delight in accompanying and recording with visiting American jazzmen, among them George Lewis, Champion Jack Dupree, Edmond Hall, Wingy Manone, Albert Nicholas, and Wild Bill. As can be heard on the record, Davison obviously enjoyed their musical support and repeatedly praised the Vikings on his return visits to America.
