Description

The Concerto In F Minor For Clarinet And Orchestra is a fine work, with a certain dark tone to music (emphasised by the minor key in which it has been written), composed by Bernhard Henrik Crusell (1775-1838). Crusell's work shows some affinity with Beethoven. This version is for clarinet with piano accompaniment (orchestral reduction). The solo clarinet part is also included on a separate insert.

Rating Review
Customer Rating This is a splendid work, written by a clarinet player, and it shows! To my mind this is one of the best concertos written for the clarinet after Mozart. The first movement is very powerful, and offers the opportunity for one's own cadenza; there is a beautiful slow movement and a romping finale which has its technical challenges. Overall the concerto is rewarding to study, satisfying to play, and pleasing to audiences. If you can afford it - buy it!
