Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating Lord have mercy, the greatest unknown guitar player the world has ever known. With his infectious personality Danny lets you into some of the secrets of his style and leaves you watching in awe. A must for all guitar players.

Customer Rating This video shows off Danny Gatton's amazing style and technique and from that point of view makes fascinating watching. However from a learning point of view I found it quite tricky to follow what was going on, even with close scrutiny of the enclosed booklet. I would describe myself as an intermediate level player, this video is not for beginners. In addition as with most of the "hot licks" series they were recorded during the 80's and are starting to look a little dated. That said I would still recommend the video to the right audience.

Customer Rating If you are VERY serious about making money even semi-pro, you should learn as much as you can from this artist. I have used several of his techniques on many types of music, as he opened all kinds of ideas. these kind of players do any song, any key, any time, any where. Not as hard as it looks, just play and learn over and over. use the DVD, much faster. Practice slowly, don't try to duplicate his style, but what he's teaching. Very fine player and teacher.

Customer Rating It's great just to watch such a humble guy show what an incredible player he was. It's worth it for that alone. There's lots to learn here but definitely not for beginners.
This DVD version includes a few useful additions and menus to what was originally a VHS video. It does look a little dated, but Danny's playing and technique is as relevant as ever.
