Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating If you want some music to help you get to grips with complex boogie woogie patterns in the context of some enjoyable pieces, then this is for you. I've used Boogie Woogie tutors before to no great success, but this hits the spot. Tricky, but going to be great fun.

Customer Rating This book is REALLY FANTASTIC! Many other boogie books are very basic whereas this one covers some quite difficult and challenging techniques! Is well recommended to those who wish to learn the 'original' songs of Boogie Woogie!

Customer Rating I agree with the above comments. This is a book of just music which is great (without all the notes and technical bits). Some serious practise ahead, but it's worth it!

Customer Rating Wanting to experiment outside the classical repertoire, and lacking the confidence to try playing by ear, I bought Hanon and How to play Boogie Woogie first. Without them, I would have taken one look at Original Boogie Woogie and fainted! Now I'm much more confident and having great fun, even though it's hard work. I have no idea how authentic the arrangements are, but they sound pretty good to me.

Customer Rating This book is not what you would expect.

These transcriptions are interpretations of the pieces (certainly for Honky Tonk Train Blues). They are not the originals (they are actually worse)! This book contains NO CHORD SYMBOLs and has never heard of tremelos - instead it just uses this really confusing notation!
