Czech composer Johann Baptist (born Jan Krtitel) Vanhal (1739-1813), wrote prolifically in ever-changing styles throughout his life and this Allegro is taken from his Sonatina in A Op. 2 No.1. It is a beautiful section which flows gracefully with simple imitations and interesting contrasts of phrasing and articulation.

This edition has been revised by Oldrich Kredba.
