The Easiest Tune Book Of Christmas Carols is a splendid collection of twenty of the most popular and favourite Christmas carols in simple two-part harmony, with fingering, Guitar chords and lyrics.

Eleanor Franklin Pike has compiled a fabulous collection of basic tunes with the easiest of arrangements suitable for young beginners. The left hand remains entirely in the five-finger position, while the right hand plays the exact reproduction of the melodies, transposed into the simplest keys. The Easiest Tune Book is perfect for young (or older) beginners, of around grades 1 or 2, enabling them to easily play and learn some of the most timeless carols of all time.

Some of the best, most enjoyable carols are included in this book, such as God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen, O Come, All Ye Faithful and Silent Night, all expertly arranged by Franklin Pike. As well as including lyrics and Guitar chords, what's really handy is some helpful fingering suggestions, which allow anyone to progress really quickly not just with these songs, but with Piano playing in general.

The Easiest Tune Book Of Christmas Carols is an old book, but the content remains as fresh, useful and beautiful as ever. It's testament to the brilliant arrangements of universally-loved tunes that this book still inspires and instils the Christmas spirit in beginning pianists so many years after its original publication.

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating As an adult learner of the piano, who finds it hard to get to grips with reading music, this book makes the playing of well known carols relatively simple, and the learning of reading music easier.

The ability to pick up tunes, with the help on the fingering makes this a joy to play and I really feel that I am progressing through using this book.

Customer Rating I have been playing the piano for 60 years- teaching for 40 of those- and have never found a carol book to better this one.I used it as a child- the cover used to look old fashioned but now I think it's become delightfully "retro"!!
Eleanor Franklin Pike makes the carols easy to play at a speed where people can join in. They also are always in singable keys! How often do you find "easy" tunes in really low keys, making it sometimes impossible for particularly children's voices to sing along.BUY IT!!! A few relatively unknown carols in book 2, book one's the one to get first!

Customer Rating This is a great book for pianists of about grade 1 standard looking to learn some music for Christmas. The left hand stays in the same position throughout most of these carols and there is clear fingering for the right hand. Instead of using key signatures the sharps and flats are written in next to the notes. There are also guitar chord symbols which might be useful if someone in the family wants to join in on guitar.

Customer Rating A great book, not really dated, full of classic carols in easy arrangements with sensible fingering. A book which anyone around Grade 1+ can do lots of work of on their own which is always nice over the Christmas period when there are no lessons!

Customer Rating I played piano as a child for a short time and took it up again 8 weeks ago. Ive now got the book and its great, I havent left it down and with a little guidance from my tutor Ive managed to play most of the carols.

Customer Rating Excellent first carol book for someone around grade 1 standard. I found the chord symbols a bit misleading and wrong in some cases. However these can be avoided.

Customer Rating This music book is really helpful and I have been learning to play the piano for just over two and half years now and I am able to teach myself from this book of carols, I also play the keyboard too. On Christmas Eve I always play a concert for my family

Customer Rating Highly recommended for the beginner/improver. Easy and comfortable to play with most of the favourites included.

Customer Rating I find this book of carols very useful for beginners who can get almost immediate gratification from it. It is also useful since the chords are given for a fairly competent guitar player to play along and fill out the sound.

Customer Rating Excellent book of Christmas Carols for the (almost) beginner. Well thought out in hand positions, plus a good variety of all the well known carols.
