Eugène Bozza's Badinage, meaning banter, is an exciting addition to the trumpeter's repertoire. Exploiting the instrument's potential, Badinage is ideal performance repertoire for intermediate- to advanced-level Trumpet players.

Born in Nice, Bozza (1905-1991) went on to study at the Paris Conservatoire, winning prizes for the Violin, conducting and composition, as well as the Grand Prix de Rome. His capability and creativity come across clearly in his Badinage for Trumpet and Piano through jesting, ascending arpeggio flourishes and energetic staccato call-and-response passages between the Trumpet and Piano. The comic nature of this piece is successfully portrayed, making Bozza's Badinage is an essential, fun and varied piece for the Trumpet repertoire.

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating A great piece of music with light, moving melodic lines at the beginning and end - and a lyrical, haunting second section. Wonderful fun to play and hear - my trumpet teacher recommended it for my jury piece 30 years ago and many students of mine have played it for theirs through the years.
