The Lark is Mily Balakirev's arrangement for piano solo of the song of the same name by Mikhail Glinka, also known as "A Farewell to St. Petersburg". It retains much of the lyricism of the original but combines it with the pianistic brilliance which makes it into a solo work.

Rating Review
Customer Rating What an exquisite Piano solo. Technically challenging and requiring a great deal of time and effort to ensure the expression is as was intended by Glinka. Nicely edited, fingered and printed. One of Glinkas best known pieces.

Customer Rating This is a truly beautiful piece of music, although quite technically demanding in places. I'm not a particular fan of playing more 'modern' music but this piece had me gripped from the off, so I would reccommend it to anyone looking for something new to learn.
