Between the months of May 1933 and August 1934 Benjamin Britten composed a series of twelve songs with piano for children, published as Friday Afternoons Op.7 and were written for his brother's preparatory school at Prestatyn, where the singing classes took place on Fridays.

This edition also includes the song Lone Dog, which was withdrawn from the cycle in 1936 due to copyright problems.

Customer Rating Whatever the genre,Britten writes so well for voices. Accessible and great fun. I learned some of these songs at school and it's been a real trip down memory lane!
