Rating Review
Customer Rating A fantastic book, my guitar playing has moved on in leaps and bounds. A must have book if you want to get into lead guitar.

Customer Rating This book is very good for the beginner.

I first bought a copy of "Lead Guitar Solos" which I found to be very good, but it was too light on explanations and I found it to be difficult and all of the examples had a fast tempo.

Now that I've purchased this book (Lead Guitar Licks) it is pretty obvious that you are supposed to start with this book before moving onto the "Lead Guitar Solos" book. This book starts with simple example based on a pentatonic scale set at a mild tempo. As you progress through the book it explains hammer ons, pull offs, string bends and various other techniques. The second half of the book then gives you examples where you utilise and improve these newly learned techniques.

In contrast, the "Lead Guitar Solos" book doesn't explain any of the techniques but instead gives you a selection of guitar solos that progressively increase in difficulty.

It would be very handy if there was a chart of what order you are supposed to play the Fast Forward books in, as it would prevent people from buying a book aimed at the wrong level of player.

This book is really fantastic, the explanations are great and the CD included is very helpful. I just wish I had bought it sooner.
