Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating Some rather phoney guy , one of Jimi's 'friends' , talks us through the riffs and solos. Meanwhile another dude works the guitar beside him . Makes for a very stilted and rather stale presentation ... hardly inspiring .
Good video quality . Doesn't set out to teach how to play the blues . The songs are presented to learn as 'party pieces'.

Customer Rating VERY well done instructional video. Andy Aledort (the master of the Hendrix transcription and editor at Guitar World) plays the parts in standard speed and at half-speed. It's amazingly useful to see the parts played with the camera so close to the fretboard. There are NO transcriptions. You'll have to figure the songs out on your own, by watching or by purchasing the tablature book.
There are scenes of Jimi playing live in the intro to each song's chapter. However, they are brief and intended add to the atmosphere, not to entertain.
I've learned a LOT from this and I highly recommend it. Hopefully, the series will continue to his other albums! (I gave it 4 stars due to the lack of tablature or 'tone tips')
