When I was a child I used all the theory is fun books, it helped me understand how to read music in a fun way.
Now I am using these books to help teach my students.
The only thing I don't like about the book is in the treble clef they use 'elephant George beats drum fast'. I've always know it as 'every good boy deserves football'.

Musicroom Reviews

Rating Review
Customer Rating These books are really good to help you learn/revise theory in grades. I have used books 1-4 so far. The more higher grade books do expect you to have basic musical knowledge. If you are doing GCSE music, these range of books can help you with the theory side.

Customer Rating Excellent, easy to understand and fun for beginners, fabulous for anyone who wants to learn about notes and music!!!

Customer Rating Nice book. User friendly even for the youngest child.

Customer Rating This is a good series to use in parallel with practical playing. Each page is simply laid out, explaining what is needed to be known with good exercises to cement this, without bombarding the pupil with fussy lay-out.

Customer Rating This series of books is a perfect theory work-book for the younger pupil. It is fun,yet covers the syllabus.I've found it to be a great success, right up to Grade 5 level.

Customer Rating It is a lovely book, but could have more exercises, especially later in the book.

Customer Rating An excellent theory tutor - I use them as an introduction for students beginning to study for their theory exams. Not had a failure yet!

Customer Rating Recommended by our daughter's Piano Teacher as an excellent study book for beginners. My eight year old daughter remains enthused so it must be good!

Customer Rating Really good for 8 plus to learn from, but could do with more examples to work for the less able.

Customer Rating Great little book but too small! Shame as good content

Customer Rating This is a good theory introduction for the younger musician (under 11) who shows an eagerness to write every lesson! It has some lovely pictures and covers the basics needed for grade 1.

Customer Rating There are plenty of theory books on the market, but, as a teacher, I like using this series. The information and activities are explained in an attractive and clearly presented way, and the little illustrations throughout the book add some fun to the learning process.

Customer Rating Great book for kids.

Customer Rating Excellent book - really makes music theory fun. My son loves it!

Customer Rating Excellent service and I really recommend this book. It is clearly presented without too many words and examples: it is much better to study this concise approach and then practise exam paper questions.

Customer Rating This is a great first Theory book - highly recommended for younger pupils.

Customer Rating Contains all one needs to know to pass grade one theory. Not too many exercises to complete, but explanations for each type of question are very good and the word list is excellent.

Customer Rating This series is good for young beginners who really do find theory as fun. For later grades more back-up is necessary to expand the imagination.
